JOSHUA TREE MAN CAUGHT TRESPASSING ON THE TWENTYNINE PALMS MARINE BASE

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Thursday, after he was found trespassing, possibly trying to steal scrap metal, on the Marine Corps Base. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the base about 1:30 by the military police who said Clarence Bodiford, 52, and another man had been found in the base’s training area. Inside his truck was a handgun, which was later determined to be stolen, and marijuana. Clarence Bodiford was arrested for investigation of carrying a loaded firearm in public, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
