A Joshua Tree man was arrested Monday, accused of violating a restraining order placed against him. According to a Sheriff’s report, neighbors called law enforcement about 7:15 p.m. Monday to report a woman was yelling and running away from a man in the 62400 block of 29 Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. Responding deputies checked the home, and found Jay Tchakerian, 26, hiding on a bed under blankets and pillows. Tchakerian told deputies he was hiding because a restraining order had been placed against him and he was not supposed to be at the residence. After an investigation, Jay Tchakerian was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order, and on a no-bail warrant for spouse abuse, and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail.
