A Joshua Tree man was arrested Wednesday after school officials notified law enforcement that his children said he punched them as punishment for misbehavior. Keith Viera, 34, of Joshua Tree, was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor child cruelty, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $5,000.
