A Joshua Tree man was arrested Friday morning after he assaulted two security guards at Hi-Desert Medical Center. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Adam Almoula, 36, who is described as being a danger to himself, tried to leave the hospital about 6:30 a.m. A guard stood in the door way to try and prevent him to leave, but says that Almoula punched him and knocked him out. Almoula then went outside the hospital where the second guard tried to talk him into returning to the hospital. The guard says Almoula picked up a baseball-sized rock and threw it, but did not hit the guard. Deputies arrested Adam Almoula for investigation of assault and battery, booked him into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000.
