A Joshua Tree man was arrested Friday evening, accused of beating his wife. According to a Sheriff’s report, Robert Kimmel, 49, of the 6100 block of Sunset Road, was arguing with his wife about 7:30 p.m. when he started hitting her in the face with his fist. A witness told police Kimmel hit the victim more than 20 times. Robert Kimmel was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
