A Joshua Tree man was arrested at gunpoint on a warrant Thursday night, after he was found hiding in his girlfriend’s daughter’s bed. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies went to a home in the 7500 block of Elwood Street in Joshua Tree about 11 p.m. with a warrant to arrest Jason Rainwater, 40, on three charges that he stalked and beat up his former girlfriend in Twentynine Palms in November 2013. During the warrant arrest, Rainwater was found hiding in the bed of his girlfriend’s 17-year-old daughter, who was also in bed with him. The report states that Rainwater refused to get out of bed or to show his hands. Jason Rainwater was forcibly removed from the bed and taken into custody at gunpoint, booked at the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $100,000. A report will be sent to the district attorney for possible charges on child abuse for the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
