A Joshua Tree man was arrested Tuesday, accused of crashing into parked cars while driving drunk. According to the California Highway Patrol, John Rubley, 84, was backing his silver Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck from a parking space in the back parking lot of the Joshua Tree Saloon. Investigators say Rubley accelerated backwards and struck a silver Honda Civic along with a white Volvo XC60. Ruby then drove forward into the Saloon’s outdoor storage unit and fence. Rubley was uninjured in the crash. John Rubley was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence, cited and released.

A witness to the crash April 27 said the driver of this pickup truck went out of control in the back parking lot of the Joshua Tree Saloon. Several cars were damaged before the truck crashed into a back wall of the Saloon.
