JOSHUA TREE MAN ARRESTED AFTER FLEEING DEPUTIES

A 24-year-old Joshua Tree man was arrested early Friday morning after he fled from Sheriff’s deputies and crashed his car in Yucca Valley. According to a Sheriff’s report, Raymond Grogins was driving on Onaga Trail about 1:45 a.m. when a deputy made a U-turn behind him. The report states that Grogins then accelerated at a high rate of speed, turned off his headlights, and continued westbound along Onaga Trail. When Grogins attempted to turn left onto Jemez Trail, he lost control of his vehicle, which crashed into a wooden fence on private property. Grogins then fled into a home across the street in the 7700 block of Jemez Trail where deputies found him inside. Raymond Grogins was arrested for an outstanding felony no-bail warrant for violating the terms of his post-release community supervision. Grogins is being held at the West Valley Detention Center with no bail.
