A Joshua Tree man was arrested Friday (March 25) after an altercation with a family member turned physical. According to Sheriff’s logs, deputies responded to the 4200 block of Inez Avenue in Joshua Tree around 11:30 p.m. on March 25 for a report of a domestic disturbance. Arriving deputies reported that the victim stated that Russell Thompson, 29, had thrown them on the floor and hit them. While on the floor, the victim also reported that Thompson had choked them. Deputies reported that the victim had a cut on their nose and was bleeding from their mouth. Following an investigation, Deputies arrested Russell Thompson for investigation of aggravated battery causing serious bodily injury and booked him into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $100,000.
