A Joshua Tree man was arrested Wednesday, accused of transporting drugs. Deputies were called to a gas station in the 57300 block of 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. The clerk said a gray Honda had been parked in front of a gas pump for over 45 minutes with no activity around the car. When deputies arrived, they found Jason Benedetti, 29. Benedetti had multiple drug warrants for his arrest. During a search of the Honda, deputies found a significant amount of methamphetamine. Jason Benedetti was arrested on suspicion of transporting meth for sales, and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000, and $80 in bail for the other drug warrants.
