A Joshua Tree man was arrested Tuesday, accused of threatening a couple with a machete. According to a Sheriff’s report, a man and woman went to their home in the 61500 block of Division Street in Joshua Tree just before 2 a.m. when they were confronted by the woman’s estranged husband, Lavar Rostant, 36. Rostant was carrying a machete and ran toward the man and swung the machete at him. Deputies found Lavar Rostant and arrested him for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked him into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
