A Joshua Tree man was arrested accused of stealing a purse out of a vehicle at a gas station. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman was filling up with gas about 8:30 a.m. Friday in the 61700 block of 29 Palms Highway. She locked her car door while she went inside the business. While she was inside, Kenneth Grier, 57, allegedly reached his arm through the cracked passenger window and unlocked the door, then grabbed a purse on the front seat, and walked southbound across the highway. The deputy recognized Grier from surveillance video and went to his home in the 7600 block of Elwood Street. Kenneth Grier was arrested for investigation of vehicle burglary, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
