A Joshua Tree man was arrested Wednesday, accused of pointing a gun at a man and woman. According to a Sheriff’s report, the victims were arguing outside a home in the 8700 block of Willow Lane about 11 p.m. Tuesday. The victims told deputies that Wayne Manes, 60, heard them arguing and walked onto their front porch and pointed a Glock handgun at them. They said Manes pulled the trigger multiple times but the gun didn’t fire. The victims fled and called deputies. Manes told deputies that he pointed the gun at the couple but didn’t pull the trigger. Deputies searched Manes’ bedroom and found a loaded Glock pistol in its box. Wayne Manes was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
