JOSHUA TREE MAN ACCUSED OF MAKING CRIMINAL THREATS

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Tuesday (August 3) accused of threatening a woman with a loaded shotgun during an argument. According to Sheriff’s reports, deputies responded to the 60500 block of Belmont Street in Joshua Tree for a report that a suspect, later identified as John Longshore, 62, had pulled out a loaded 20 gauge shotgun and was swinging it around during a verbal confrontation with the female victim. Longshore also reportedly hit the victim in the chin. The victim called 911 and fled the property fearing for her safety. Deputies located Longshore in the front yard of the property and, during an area check, recovered the shotgun in the garage of the home. John Longshore was arrested for investigation of making criminal threats and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000. The victim declined medical attention.
