A Joshua Tree man was arrested Tuesday, accused of fighting with his mother, and hitting his son with a baseball bat. According to a Sheriff’s report, Joseph Inman, 52, of the 61600 block of El Reposo Circle, was arguing with his elderly mother and hit her about 5:30 p.m. A witness called Inman’s son to come help. When the son arrived, he refused to let Inman drive away on a motorcycle because Inman had been drinking. The report states that Inman got a baseball bat and hit his son on the side and the head. After an investigation, Joseph Inman was arrested on suspicion of assault with a weapon, booked at West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000. His son was not seriously injured and declined medical aid.
