JOSHUA TREE MAN ACCUSED OF GRAND THEFT AUTO, BURGLARY, ASSAULT, AND DUI FRIDAY

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Friday (September 24) accused of burglary, grand theft, assault, and DUI in Joshua Tree. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies were called to the 2600 block of Sunfair Road around 5:25 a.m. for a report of a disturbance. Arriving deputies determined that Zachary Paul Catlett, 36,  was intoxicated when he stole a 1995 GMC box truck from a 42-year-old male resident of Joshua Tree and rammed it into another vehicle driven by a 36-year-old female resident of Joshua Tree. Catlett then assaulted a third victim, a 58-year-old male resident of Joshua Tree, before fleeing the area. Deputies located Catlett in the box truck as he fled, and took him into custody a short time later. Zachary Paul Catlett was arrested for investigation of burglary, grand theft auto, vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, and DUI. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000.
