A Joshua Tree man was arrested Tuesday, accused of choking his mother and threatening her. According to a Sheriff’s report, residents in the 61800 block of Chollita Road called about 11:20 Tuesday morning to report that Angel Gutierrez, 18, had choked his mother earlier, pulled a knife on her in a threatening manner, and was now throwing rocks. Guttierez then fled the scene, but was located by deputies near Center Street and Chollita Avenue. After an investigation, Angel Gutierrez was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
