JOSHUA TREE MAN ACCUSED OF CHILD ABUSE

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Wednesday night accused of child abuse. According to a Sheriff’s report, the boy returned home after a visit with his father—identified as David Flaningam, 30, of the 62200 block of Verbena Road—with a hand print on his back. The boy told his mother that he and his brother were fighting, and Flaningam became upset and hit him. After an investigation, David Flaningam was arrested on suspicion of inflicting injury on a child, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
