JOSHUA TREE MAN ACCUSED OF BURGLARIZING A LOCAL STORE

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Sunday, accused of breaking into a business and burglarizing it. About 12:20 p.m. Sunday, a witness called deputies to report that she saw a man, later identified as Darren Claborn, 28, kicking in the door of a business in the 61300 block of 29 Palms Highway in the Starr Plaza in Joshua Tree, and was stealing items. She then said that Claborn went into the desert east of the Joshua Tree Post Office, was resting under a tree, and had taken his shirt off. Deputies located Claborn, along with items reportedly stolen from the business. Darren Claborn was arrested for investigation of burglary, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $25,000.
