JOSHUA TREE MAN ACCUSED OF BREAKING RESTAURANT WINDOWS

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Monday, accused of throwing rocks at and breaking a restaurant’s windows. On Sunday, Duke Early, 42, had gone to Castaneda’s Mexican Restaurant in Joshua Tree and started yelling at some of the customers inside. The employees told him to leave and Early said he would come back and shoot them. He then went outside and started throwing rocks at the restaurant’s windows. Employees called the Sheriff’s Department, but Early was gone by the time deputies arrived.

Early returned to the restaurant Monday and started throwing rocks again and broke some of the restaurant’s windows. A quote to repair the windows was $1,900. Deputies arrived and arrested Duke Early for investigation of felony vandalism, booked him into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
