A Joshua Tree man was arrested Thursday, accused of assaulting a 6-year-old boy. According to a Sheriff’s report, Deputy Troy Kaukani was called to Joshua Tree Elementary School to investigate injuries to a 6-year-old boy. The boy said that Aidan Chairez, 26, his mother’s boyfriend, had hit him in the head and pulled his hair at another location. Kaukani went to the 64800 block of Walpi Drive where he found Chairez. After an investigation, Aidan Chairez was arrested on suspicion of inflicting injury to a child, and for two misdemeanor warrants. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with bail set at $127,500.
