School’s out, and it’s time for the summer reading programs at area libraries. Reporter Dan Stork tells what’s in store at the Joshua Tree Library…
Get ready to “Excavate Something Big” on Tuesday June 17 at 1:00 p.m. when the Summer Reading Program kick off and registration begins at the Joshua Tree Branch Library. Dinosaurs are the theme for the county’s libraries free program this summer. Reading and fun are in store for readers of all ages; children, young adults and adults may join the program. Face painters will be on hand during registration to decorate children with their favorite dinosaur! The Joshua Tree Library will host a family performance every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. John Abrams Animal Magic will begin the programs with a performance on Tuesday June 24. Juggling, puppets, crafts and more will be featured on successive Tuesdays through August 2. The program performances are funded by the Friends of the Library and attendance is free. In addition to the family programs, preschool aged children are invited to attend Summer Reading Program story time on Wednesday mornings at 11:00 a.m. through the summer.
