JOSHUA TREE LIBRARY OFFERS SUMMER READING PROGRAM

The summer reading program at the Joshua Tree Branch Library will begin a kick-off registration day Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children, teens and adults can earn incentive awards for reading this summer and can also earn tickets for county-wide and local branch opportunity drawings. Some of the prizes being awarded in the county-wide drawing include a Nook HD, a bicycle, a Lego Death Star set, and a gaming system. Prizes in the Joshua Tree branch drawing include passes to the Palm Springs Tramway, the Palm Springs Air Museum, and the grand prize, four one-day park hopper Disneyland passes. In addition to the reading portion of the program, performers will present puppet shows, live animal programs, magic and more at the Joshua Tree library on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. through August 1. Performances begin Tuesday, June 16, with a Franklin Haynes marionettes puppet show. For more information about the summer reading program at the Joshua Tree Library call 760-366-8615.
