Zokaites, a Tempe, AZ artist, is engaged in large-scale, colorful, interactive objects and spaces using weaving as a sculptural skin, and continuously testing the craft’s pliancy through scale.
Ferguson, a Bahamian poet, and essayist, based in Brooklyn, NY, is currently working on a nonfiction book about Hurricane Dorian and climate change in small-island developing states across the world. Bernard will take advantage of the JTHAR residency to synthesize and focus his research on his book’s following two chapters.
