Patrick D. Wilson is a sculptor and assistant professor of art at the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University. His works express the cultural collision between expanding population centers and their varied frontiers through metal, wood, and fabric sculptures. As part of his residency, Patrick proposes to build a series of wood and fabric structures for the desert environment that will be in direct dialog with the specific terrain of Joshua Tree National Park. The open studio event will be held Saturday (July 31) from 4-6 p.m. at 8321 Via Rocosa in Joshua Tree. Visitors are asked to wear a mask.
