Joshua Tree’s Fire Station 36 placed a new fire engine into service this week.
The new Kovatch Mobile Equipment (KME) Type-1 Fire Engine was placed in service on September 25th. The new engine carries 500 gallons of water, features a 1500 GPM pump and is powered by a Cummins power plant.
The station’s outgoing Type 1 apparatus will be moved to Fire Station 42 in Yucca Valley. The engine was purchased using funding from a Community Development Block Grant, and will help to serve both the Joshua Tree are as well as the greater Morongo Basin and Joshua Tree National Park.
