JOSHUA TREE FELON FOUND WITH AMMUNITION

A convicted felon was arrested Monday during a probation compliance check of his home in Joshua Tree. According to the Sheriff’s department, deputies went to perform a probation compliance check on Anthony Burkins, 29, at his home in the 6000 block of Mount Shasta Avenue about 2:45 p.m. Monday. Deputies found ammunition in his home, and as a convicted felon, Burkins is prohibited from owning ammunition or firearms. Anthony Burkins was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of ammunition, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $35,000.
