The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program, or PBIS, is an advanced school-wide discipline program that uses proactive strategies for teaching and positively reinforcing appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. Joshua Tree Elementary School was presented with its second consecutive platinum status award for its outstanding implementation of the program. Of the 218 schools from 33 different districts awarded, Joshua Tree elementary was one of only six schools presented with Platinum status, the highest level status that the coalition can give to a school.
