JOSHUA TREE ELEMENTARY GETS BEHAVIOR AWARD

Joshua Tree Elementary School was recently awarded with platinum status for the success of its positive behavior program for the second year in a row. Reporter Andrew Dieleman explains…

The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program, or PBIS, is an advanced school-wide discipline program that uses proactive strategies for teaching and positively reinforcing appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. The Joshua Tree Elementary School leadership team was presented with a platinum status award from the California PBIS Coalition for the second year in a row for their outstanding implementation of the program. Platinum status is the highest level status that the coalition can give to a school.

Four other MUSD schools received Silver level honors from the PBIS Coalition this year. Those schools include Condor Elementary School, Landers Elementary School, Palm Vista Elementary School and Twentynine Palms High School.
