The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program, or PBIS, is an advanced school-wide discipline program that uses proactive strategies for teaching and positively reinforcing appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. The Joshua Tree Elementary School leadership team was invited to the third Annual California PBIS Conference in Sacramento, where the team was presented with a platinum status award for the school from the California PBIS Coalition for their outstanding implementation of the program.
