Another move has been made in the ongoing battle over the Dollar General store proposed for Joshua Tree. Reporter Dan Stork says that this time it’s from the store’s developers…
According to a social media posting by Joshua Tree Chamber of Commerce President Thomas Fjallstam, the developer of the proposed Dollar General store in Joshua Tree has appealed a court decision that went against it. The September decision reinforced the requirement that an Environmental Impact Report be prepared for the project, and that Dynamic Development and San Bernardino County pay legal costs incurred by the Joshua Tree Downtown Business Alliance, who initiated the suit against the store. Dynamic Development made a courtesy call to Babak Naficy, the lawyer for JTDBA, when they filed just before the filing deadline. The JTDBA has 20 days from when Naficy gets a certified copy from the court— which he has not yet received—to file a cross-appeal, if that is a desired action.
