The chief justice of the San Bernardino Superior Court has extended her emergency order concerning the county’s court systems. The Joshua Tree courthouse will be closed through Thursday, May 28.
Some of the essential, time-sensitive functions that will remain open include: criminal in-custody hearings and arraignments; civil restraining orders involving violent conduct; domestic violence proceedings; civil matters where the parties can appear remotely; hearings concerning elder abuse; emergency petitions for temporary guardianship; warrant requests; juvenile hearings; and emergency writs challenging COVID-19 emergency measures.
All civil jury trials will be continued until July 24. The Joshua Tree courthouse will be open for these functions Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
