A Joshua Tree couple was arrested Sunday morning after they fought each other. According to a Sheriff’s report, Tammice Mast, 48, called deputies about 5:45 a.m. to report that her boyfriend, Oscar Munoz, 40, had slapped her in the face, and then attempted to leave the home in the area of Winters Road and Anaheim Road in a blue diesel pick-up truck. The arriving deputy saw a similar truck near the location; inside was Munoz. Munoz had several fresh and old scratches on his face and neck. Munoz said that Mast had attacked him. The deputy then checked on Mast, who had similar injuries to her face, hands, and shin. Mast said she received the injuries from Munoz. Both claimed that the other had attacked them and that they were only defending themselves. The deputy could not determine who was the primary aggressor, and so arrested both Oscar Munoz and Tammice Mast for investigation of felony spouse abuse. Munoz and Mast were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $50,000 each.
