After an 18-year hiatus, a band that helped to define the sound of Joshua Tree is getting back together and will be in concert this Friday. Purple Mountain Matinee will be playing some music together again in a reunion show this Saturday, November 3, at 6 p.m. under the stars in an outdoor show at the JT Saloon. The reunion show coincides with the release of their first CD since 2003, which was released after the band broke up in 2000. Band member Eric Banas told Z107.7, “It’s going to a magical desert night with Purple Mountain Matinee playing all original tunes.”
