The Yucca Valley Planning Commission meets tonight (January 25) to consider a number of measures related to the removal and transfer of native plants. Reporter Jef Harmatz has a closer look at tonight’s agenda.
At tonight’s regularly scheduled meeting, the Planning Commission will vote on the transplant of thirteen Western Joshua Tree and the removal of three dead Western Joshua Trees (in the 7300 block of Fairway Dr and the 54000 block of Pinon Drive), the encroachment within 10 feet of three Western Joshua Trees (in the 7500 block of Elata Ave and the 6300 Imperial Ave,) and the removal of several native plants, including three California Juniper, a Parry’s Nolina, and a Mojave Yucca at various residential locations around town. The commission will also consider a residential setback variance in the 6700 block of Lindberg Lane.
