JOSHUA SPRINGS FOOTBALL TAKES STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Joshua Springs Lightning football won their sixth CIF Championship in school history Saturday night by defeating the Lancaster Baptist Eagles 42-6. After an 8-1 regular season, Joshua Springs met up with Lancaster in the CIF Finals. The Eagles’ offense came into the championship game, averaging a robust 84 points per game in their previous two contests. Quarterback Joey Hagerman threw five of 11 for 80 yards and a touchdown, increasing both of his school records on the night. He finished the year with 1,580 yards and 30 touchdowns, to just six interceptions.
