At last night’s meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District, directors passed a resolution honoring departed board member Mickey Luckman and her many good works, followed by a presentation to Luckman’s daughter Jennifer Carter. And in preparation for updating the district’s 10-year-old wastewater treatment strategy, the board heard a presentation on the current plan, which aims to protect the area’s groundwater from increased levels of nitrates, a result of septic seepage.
