At tonight’s 7 p.m. meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District, the board will look into chromium-6 mitigation planning and consider a request for financial assistance to address the state’s new lower threshold for limiting chromium-6 in our water. Also tonight, in a cost cutting measure, the board will consider a management recommendation for strategically timing water purchases in order to stay ahead of annual price hikes. Also tonight, the board will hear an update on conservation efforts. Those items and others will precede committee, staff and director’s reports. Tonight’s meeting takes place at district offices on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
