The blueprint for the future of water use and conservation in Joshua Tree has been released in draft form. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says the public review of the Urban Water Management Plan is open…
Joshua Basin Water District has released a draft of its Urban Water Management Plan for public review. A public hearing and board vote on the plan is set for June 1. Adoption of the plan is a prerequisite to receiving state funding and grants for projects that sustain local water availability and quality. The plan is also a critical “road map” for planning that will help steer board members’ decisions on water needs for the community. The plan is a source of maps, graphs, comparisons and projections for the Joshua Tree community, with overviews and data covering growth and projections for future water use; alternative supply options, shortage contingencies, and more. The draft Urban Water Management Plan is available for review at jbwd.org.
