JOSHUA BASIN WATER HEARS PLANS TO CHARGE FOR INACTIVE METERS

The Joshua Basin Water District will start the process to charge a fee for unused water meters tonight. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has more…
At tonight’s 7 p.m. meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District board, Directors will likely start the ball rolling on a plan to charge inactive meter accounts a basic monthly fee. Toward that end, and to comply with Prop 218, directors must authorize notice to customers and call a public hearing on the matter. Final approval for establishing inactive meter charges would follow the public hearing. That item and others will precede staff and director’s reports. Tonight’s meeting takes place at district offices on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
