Joshua Basin Water District crews recently were called out after hours to repair a fist-sized hole in old pipe. But since equipment was at the ready, due to the capital improvement and replacement project, water service was back on in just a few hours. Ernest Figueroa has more information about work going on in the Joshua Basin Water District…
Work on the Tilford Watermain Replacement Project will be intermittent over the next couple of months due to the District’s Well 14 Project which is expected to be completed by June.
Part of the District’s Well 14 project includes the installation of a on-site sodium hypo-chlorite generator that will allow the water district to produce its own low-concentration chlorine. The addition of chlorine to the water supply is a state requirement and the addition of this generator will allow the district to become more self-reliant in its need to maintain a steady supply of sodium hypochlorite for water distribution.
