Last night the Joshua Basin Water District board of directors authorized the general manager to begin a one-year low-income pilot assistance program
for residential ratepayers with a gross annual income of $24,000 for a single person or $32,000 for two wage earners. Under the program successful applicants will receive an annual $50 bill credit. The year-long pilot program will cost the district $6,650 and be limited to 120 households. The program will be administered by United Way of the Desert. This program is expected to go into effect this August. In other business, the board received and filed the proposed budget for fiscal 2018/2019.
