If you are having trouble reducing your landscape water usage, a workshop being offered by the Joshua Basin Water District on Saturday may have some helpful tips for you. Reporter Mike Lipsitz fills in the details…
The folks at Joshua Basin Water District are pulling out all the stops in an effort to comply with the state mandated 28 percent reduction in consumption. It’s a challenge made even tougher during the summer months when water use tends to be the highest of the year. As part of that effort, Joshua Basin Water District ratepayers are invited to a free workshop on maximizing efficiency in landscape water use. The “Landscape Water Saver” workshop is this Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Joshua Tree Community Center behind the Sportsman’s Club in Joshua Tree. The workshop will help locals tune-up irrigation systems, measure water use, learn how to “smart water,” and get drought irrigation tips. Participants will receive a free soil moisture meter.
