JOSHUA BASIN WATER DISTRICT AND HI-DESERT WATER DISTRICT MEET IN REGULAR SESSION TONIGHT

The Hi-Desert Water district board of directors will meet at 6:00 tonight. Among the items on the agenda, the board will be asked to support a senate bill for the modernization of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency law. It will also hear an update on innovative federal strategies, and will hear a presentation on the draft preliminary design for the sewer. The meeting will be held in district offices on the highway at Inca Trail.

The Joshua Basin Water District Board of Directors meets tonight in regular session beginning at 7:00 at District offices on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree. Among items on tonight’s light action agenda, the board will likely offer encouragement to a neighboring water agency and authorize a letter in support of State Senate Bill 246 for modernization of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency Law. Also tonight, directors may award the $5,000 contract for a relatively minor office construction job. Then following committee reports, the board will adjourn to closed session to consider options in the wake of General manager Joe Guzzetta’s resignation. Guzzetta has accepted the position of City Manager for Twentynine Palms.
