The Joshua Basin Water District board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the District office on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree. Following the likely approval of items on the consent agenda, the board will convene a public hearing to consider increases in water rates and charges. On another hot button issue, the board will consider authorizing the general manager to comment to the County about concerns over a proposed solar power project at Alta Loma and Olympic in Joshua Tree. The District questions the developer’s claim that the 24-acre project will not require any water or grading.
