JOSHUA BASIN WATER DISTRICT BOARD MEETS TONIGHT

Directors at the Joshua Basin Water District will hold their regular twice monthly meeting tonight. As always, this meeting is open to the public. Reporter Mike Lipsitz tells us what’s on the agenda…
At tonight’s meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District, attendees will hear an overview and update on the district’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. Next on the agenda, the board will consider two resolutions required by the Bureau of Reclamation in order to apply for water smart grants. The resolutions are for mainline and meter replacements at a cost of $600,000. Also tonight, the board will consider a management recommendation to change the district’s budget cycle from two years at a time to one. And among other items, the board will consider changes to the district’s reserve fund policy. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at district offices on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
