It looks to be a marathon meeting at the Joshua Basin Water District board tonight. Here’s reporter Mike Lipsitz with a rundown…
Tonight’s 6:30 p.m. meeting begins with the second of five public hearings on the path to move to district-based elections.
In other business, the board will decide whether or not to extend the general manager’s contract to September 30, 2019 with a 5 percent pay raise; without the extension that contract expires the end of this month.
Also tonight, the board will likely execute a form from the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. The action should streamline the process should emergency services be needed.
Next, the board will consider increases to a handful of miscellaneous charges, consider outsourcing administration of standby charges, and among other items, decide on a schedule and cost option for recharge water from the Mojave Water Agency. Those items, and a well 14 update will follow public comments. Tonight’s meeting takes place at district offices on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
