JOSHUA BASIN WATER APPROVES WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN AFTER PUBLIC INPUT

The Joshua Basin Water District approved their water management plan last night, after listening to some public input. Reporter Mike Lipsitz files this report…
At last night’s meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District, the board continued from the June 1 meeting a public hearing on the Urban Water Management Plan. Since the prior meeting, a number of revisions were made in response to points raised by the Transition Joshua Tree Water Group. Commenting on behalf of the grassroots Water Group, Joshua Tree resident Deb Bollinger thanked the board and general manager for their openness and effort to revise the Urban Water Management Plan. The plan was approved last night, just ahead of the State Water Resources Control Board deadline. Also last night, the board reviewed and left unchanged water availability or standby charges for the coming year. Those charges have remained unchanged since 1992. And finally, the board approved purchase of replacement office computers with a purchase order ceiling of $23,000.
