JOSHUA BASIN GOES TO DISTRICT BASED ELECTIONS

Last night in Joshua Tree, directors at the Joshua Basin Water District heard the second reading then unanimously adopted an ordinance establishing and implementing district based elections. So no longer will voters in the district vote on the directors from a district-wide pool, but will instead vote only when a board seat occupied by the director who resides in their district comes up for election. And among other items, the board authorized contracting of a feasibility study in connection with switching the district’s pumping stations to solar power.
