JOHNSON VALLEY WOMAN HELD FOR FELONY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A Johnson Valley woman was arrested Friday afternoon, accused of beating up her boyfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, the man’s mother called 911 about 3:30 Friday afternoon from the 48100 block of Firethorn Way to report that her son’s girlfriend, Cecelia Ruiz, 23, had grabbed a knife, and when her son tried to take the knife away from her, she cut him in the hands, neck and face during the fight. After an investigation, Cecelia Ruiz was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse. She was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment, and then booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with her bail set at $50,000.
